‘Omphalos’- In Greek antiquity this symbolizes the center of the earth.

 

The navel is the only part of the body which after birth no longer has any function. It is there to remind us of the attachement to our mother. This navel is to remind us that our planet is our great mother, a living organism on which our lives depend. So may we in turn give her the respect she deserves.
