「樹々との対話」
誰もが周囲を見渡した時、全ての場所から様々なイメージを得る。私達はそこから何かを見出し、それらのイメージは時として無意識の内に、私達の記憶に蓄積される。そして、シンプルな映像として残されていく。
特にアーティストは自分を取り巻くイメージに敏感であり、寛容であり、それらイメージを集積する能力に長けているものである。今回の制作場所を訪れた時にも、自分の記憶の中に蓄積された「引き出し」からイメージが溢れ出し、自然と会話をし、私のアート作品は完成したのです。自然の原型を止めながらも、他の形に変化して行きながら。
私の作品は、私の元々持っていたイメージの変容であり、木々との会話を通して自然の一部となって行って欲しいと考えています。

"Conversation with the Trees"
We store images haphazardly from an infinite number of sources. This is often an unconscious process that visual artists are especially sensitive to. When I discovered the site for my work at Fureaino-Sato, it triggered waves of images in my memory that inspired a dialog with the surrounding nature. It was this dialog that guided the completion of the work by both transforming nature and staying connected to its original appearance. Thus, Conversation with the Trees reflects a process that, in itself, I hope is very much a part of nature
