Na Mo Korea/China
Installed in the Tsukuba art gallery, NAMO - Kim Nam Oh’s box-like construction is like a theatre scene. As he says, “This is a history. This work is personal and subjective.” Made of old-fashioned materials 0on an old Seiko sewing machine and with surreal combination of high-tech and Romantic nature scene, part past part future. NAMO’s mini-theatre with its electronic light and nature elements evokes a sense of how we build a story of life, and how history plays a role in the way we see the world. Nature is in this scene almost like Hokusai or classic, and the “unnatural” nature light effects make this a perpetual theatre. Father Earth and Mother Sky are there too, in this cabinet of time, as earth memories or a story of the ephemeral nature of life itself, how time continues invisibly over the centuries, and we – the actors – change…

筑波アートギャラリーにインストールされたNAMO（ナモ）－Kim Nam Oh－の箱のような構造物は劇場のシーンのようである。彼によると「これは歴史です。この作品は個人的なもので、主観的なものです」。古いSeiko のミシンのうえに置かれたオールドファッションな材料で制作されていて、ハイテクとロマンチックな自然の風景の超現実的な組み合わせで、部分的には過去のものであり、部分的には未来のものである。電気照明を使ったナモのミニシアターと、自然という要素は、わたしたちがどのようにライフの物語を組み立てているのか、また歴史がわたしたちの世界観におよぼす影響に思いを至らせる。このシーンにおける自然はまるで北斎のようなもので古典である。そして、「非自然」な自然光の効果はこれを永遠のシアターに作り替える。「父なる空 母なる大地」がそこにも存在する。この時間のキャビネットのなかに。それは大地の記憶としてであり、生命自体が持つはかない性質のストーリーとしてである。時間は何世紀にわたって誰の目にもとまらずに続いてゆく、そしてわたしたち－アクター－は変わってゆく・・・
